I just got a rifle put together and thought I'd share a couple of photos. It's an almost stock Weatherby Vanguard stainless in 257 Wby. I ordered in a McMillan Sako classic stock in medium green to turquoise flame with white in the transition area.

Guntech bedded it, tuned the trigger to a quite crisp 2 3/8 pounds and recrowned the muzzle. As always, he did great work. Thanks Dennis!

I mounted an old Vari-X III 3.5-10X40 matte scope, with Premier Reticles #4a reticle and an M1 elevation turret. Scope mounts are Conetrol lows, which are very low and just the right scope height with this stock for me. Just high enough that the Butler Creeks clear the barrel. It weighs about 8 1/2 pounds all up.

I took it to the range today and more or less zeroed it, but it was way too windy to get serious about shooting for groups. But I think it'll be a keeper! With 100 grain TSX's at 3575 fps, it's hard to imagine a better long range deer rifle.

FWIW, this completed rifle cost about the same as the Sub-MOA model...

Nice looking rig Rick. Colour is a bit "bold" for me, but you'll be styling at the range!
I'd be interested in how you compare that stock design to some others that I may have handled.

Shark rifle. Hmmmmmmmmmm......I like it!

Pat, wait til you see the next one!

This is a nice stock. Very similar to a M700 classic, just a bit slimmer in the grip and foreend. I can take or leave the cheekpiece, but it is nicely done and works well. I like it.

Nice rig...I have the chance to pick up a new Vanguard 257 Wby stainless for $425, was thinking of a re-stock job like yours, but decided against it for the moment, need to shoot the rifles I own currently more before I should justify another...again, nice rifle! :)
