A lot of people still don't undertand strategic voting on this site, it's mind boggling. Good thing in the Saguenay region they should elect a conservative (Richard Martel), so his PPC vote shouldn't hurt if he's from Chicoutimi. If he's from Jonquière (other part of Saguenay) it could hurt however.

Some range friends voted NDP so that the LPC doesn't get a seat. The NDP will form a coalition with the LPC so I don't get the advantage. They said that the CPC has no chance in their riding. How can the CPC ever stand a chance in that riding if CPC supporters vote NDP?

The coalition thing got shot down real quick shortly after it was mentioned.

The idea is that if the CPC candidate doesn't have a chance to win, you vote NDP so that it will potentially edge the LPC out of their seat.

Voted Conservative in a riding where the incumbent Liberal is neck and neck. Every vote is going to count! Our collective livelihoods, and for some, a way of life is at stake. I joined this forum because of this election, and I will do everything in my power now and into the future (within the confines of the law) to support our cause. Civil liberties and personal freedom in general are eroding before our eyes - firearms are just the start.

Minority government last on average 16-21 months. Not a lot of time to issue and implement a ban. If your looking for a silver lining.

Enough time to import a few million more liberal ndp voters.

I always wondered why don’t vote conservative ? Why is it they vote liberal or ndp ? Do they all hold the exact same values and morals as the liberal ndp Party in the country they came from ? Maybe someone can clue me in

You will lose your guns because of Marxists.

Then you actually vote for them. And you castigate one of ours for voting on principle.....which you did not.
The disgrace is yours to own alone.

Voted with my brain. Would love to vote CPC. Not everyone lives in a riding where you can actually vote CPC.

Choice was done help elect LPC majority by voting CPC or vote against it by voting for NDP. A seat for NDP would mean one less seat for LPC.

Less seats for LPC helps CPC.

Moderator of this site had a guide for each riding. Mine stated to VOte NDP and get LPC voter sto vote NDP.

I contributed $400 to CPC. But I had to vote ndp in my riding while holding my nose. I am in toronto danforth. It 40% liberal 40 % ndp & 15% green.

CPC guy came to me, it was hard for me to explain him why I voted ndp. I hope he understood.

Exactly why our electoral system needs to change!

I don't understand how voting NDP helps.

Well, what the hell do I know.

It splits the non-CPC vote. Basically lowers LPC (and raises NDP slightly, but not enough to mean much).

In ridings like in Toronto, CPC isn't even an option, so voting Anybody but Liberals is only thing you can do.

I also live in a place where it's either going to be Libs or Bloc. CPC is third with not even 10%.

In my case what would you guys do? Both libs and bloc give me a gag reflex.

Because of first past the post, if the CPC has no chance of winning, it is a wasted vote (same for any small party)

My riding is similar to the other NDP guy, with:
19% Con
33% NDP
37% Lib

(used to be 20-25-40, so at least there's a chance to oust the Libs now)

In my case, a Con vote is largely worthless
An NDP vote will at least have a chance of removing the Lib seat

Though with the coalition likely, I'm a little less enthused...

See how your riding is doing
(though if the polls wind up being wrong, I'll be ####ing upset. Should probably look at historic voting patterns)

Well I would like to vote PPC but I can't, CPC majority would be the best and a Liberal majority the worst, so a minority government with as many bloc and NDP MP's as possible is preferable to that, so I voted NDP to ensure the Liberal in my riding didn't stand a chance. The only thing certain about minority governments is that they dissolve into chaos pretty quickly. Remember the main opposition for the NDP and Bloc in their riding's is the Liberal candidate not CPC. I always wondered if the Libs gun legislation was aimed at getting NDP voters to switch to the Liberals in some swing ridings. Neither the NDP or the Bloc are going to want to do anything that makes the Liberals look good as they know another election is a certainty, plus I would imagine they would want to get a look at the books and see what the Liberals have been up to while in power, only way to do that is to get rid of Trudeau which would mean voting with the CPC because he won't step down otherwise. Now that only lasts as long as the first budget from the CPC in which case both the Bloc and NDP vote against it. Don't forget that little pet Trudeau put the strong arm on that female NDP MP at his first sitting of Parliament because he wanted to get going, guaranteed she hasn't forgotten and neither have the NDP. Anyhow chaos is better than a Liberal majority. The backstabbing and backroom dealing will begin the minute a minority government appears imminent. Listen I hope you guys get your CPC majority but anything is better than a Liberal majority.
