octagon barells

I have a neet cun a friend gave me to clean up for him. It is a F. Dumoulin & Co. 12 ga. It has outside hammers & octagional barells. The ingraving on the plates is very nice. The forend is checkerd & has leaves in reliefe. Stock is replaced (poorley) Marked fine steel Belgium. Anyone else run across such a beast? Any info would be welcome. Thanks AJ

Dumoulin is a great name in shotguns.

As with many older Belgian guns, watch for copy cat guns, guns marked in a way to confuse buyer into thinking it was made by a famous maker ie; Dumoulin....sometimes you need a pro to tell.
