Just a couple of days before the first deer hunt for the year and I am getting twitchy. I remember when we used the archery season as a scouting tool for the gun hunt as there were not that many deer around.
Over the years the deer numbers have increased and so has our success, nowadays we harvest deer regularly with arrows early in the season 8)
Toomer jumped a nice buck out of the cattails while we were duck hunting last nite and I spent the next two hours working the area trying to figure him out.
Swamp deer are the toughest and this fella seems to be very secretive, I would love to put a bolt through his lungs on opening day. I will formulate a plan off attack... now, who do I use for an unwitting pylon... :wink:
