October 2014 Purchases

Since I got my license in August, already at my fourth and last for a while (I keep telling myself lol).. Could not for the life of me stay away from the mosin after loving my sks. The back end of the stock could use some work, but I kind of like the ruggedness in it. Smooth bolt and matching serial #s on almost all of it.

Nice mosin where did you get it

Was given to me today by a friend.

A few scuffs bore needs a good scrub to get out the dust, just has an ( F) not FTR. Likely the nicest gift a friend haa given me.

Picked up this all matching Arisaka Type 99 LONG. It's 35th series Toyo Kogy which has me confused because that appears to be from online sources a 1945 date. Yet the Arisaka 99 longs, by the information I have known, were changed to the shorter length barrels after the first year, 1941. If anyone knows why they would build a fine 99 Long that late in the war when they were producing last ditches beside it - please contact me.
I took it out on the range and it shoots like a dream. Keyholed two shots at 100yds. Jumping Jesus I love the way this and my Arisaka 38 shoot.

Very nice Arisaka. Are there many left in Canada that weren't chopped and are still original or are most throw togethers from parts?

I bought both my Arisaka's in the states and had them imported for the extra 300 bucks.

Anytime a decent Arisaka is posted here, and you gotta be watching the EE like a hawk, it's gone in seconds.
