Bought another K31.......they clean up real nice. 8) Don't have it yet, but the stock will likely get a going over. Refinished the walnut stock on the last K31 I got and it turned out real nice. I'll get some pics of it up tomorrow.

Ok here goes.

My first Nagant

A Russian 91/30 made in 1921. Izhevsk, converted from a Dragoon rifle, Hex receiver, VG+ bore.

She is a beauty.

Bought a tin of Hungarian Heavy ball ammo, can't wait.

Nice Dragoon conversion!

Hitzy: Geez... how many Swiss rifles does a non-collector need? ;) You should swap one for a cap N ball... lol.

Hi Guys, of course you are right! It is a BYF42 that I sold to a guy last year, and he offered it back to me to get into antique cares. It is pretty nice, all matching except the bolt, which matches itself. The matching stock has had a light coat of varnish put on it, but I think this can easily be taken off. I will likely keep her now. Gotten into pistols lately since the k98 supply seems to have dried up for me. Thanks for looking guys!

if you post a K98 you have to post all the details about it...you of all people should know that joe! :D

Nice haul btw

Technically this was a September purchase but it needed some minor restoration before its unveiling. Needed a new rear sight blade, rear sling swivel screw, axis pin retaining screw and a new front band (someone relieved the original one of the bayo lug  but I found an original one after some intense looking and favor calling).

I think it turned out very nice - she's a helluva MkIV, started life as a .402 Enfield Martini Mk1.

To tell you the truth, I'd like to buy about a dozen of them........
Swiss workmanship is superb, trigger is excellent, materials used (cromium nickle) are highest quality, extremely accurate, ergonomic, balance is great, dies and components are readily available (.284winchester brass and .308 bullets), I can't find anything wrong with them at all.
I figure I'll turn one into a target setup with diopter sights and keep the other one stock to beat you guys with at the milshoots........ :p

As nice as they may be, I still prefer turnbolts ;) I guess I'm set in my ways. I wouldn't mind trying an early Steyr M95 long rifle in the original 8x50 though (as opposed to the later 8x56) - just to be different.

Who knows - maybe one day I'll try a K31 as well. We shall see.
