October purchases

Ah well, your loss is my gain. I was a bit skeptical about the finish myself but its not varnish, its Tru-Oil, and it doesnt fog or hold fingerprints, at least not so far; just a nice gloss. Not exactly a representation of what it once was, but nice to look at :) I went to the show with the express hope of landing a full wood Enfield. I only saw three that day, including this one - and one was not for sale, just brought for inspection by an expert. The other was in far worse shape, with a less stellar bore, asking $500.

the varnish is not an issue...
just buff with 0000 steelwool and you'll have a very nice matt and smooth finish.

purchased a swiss k31 and a norweigan k98 all matching excellent bore in great shape thats it for this month gun budget used up for this month

I bought this No 1 mk 3 early this month.

The 2 Awesome 1911 A1's !!

Thanks for posting the Colt and Remington side by side Steve...you can really see the diffferences in the finishing techniques of both companies...all you need now is a Green Ithaca!

Another Canadian comes home...

This was actually an April purchase....but it got held up waiting for U.S. paperwork south of the 49th. (Clay at Prophet says I now hold the record for longest wait). :(

1916 Ross Mk III, acquired from a fellow in the Chicago area (thanks Bill). The woodwork has its share of bruises, but the bore is pristine.

The wait for its arrival gave me a chance to get an appropriate leather sling from Denners, and the proper front sight hood and screws (thanks Warren).

Here it is posed with my Ross Mk II 5*. The Mk III is kind of a clunky homely thing compared to the Mk II but I'm very pleased to have them both.
