I've been using my Dillon 650 for a few months now and noticed 2 fairly consistent issues when using it. In both cases I am working very slowly and deliberately, no yank and go kind of thing.
1) when loading 40S&W, sometimes the case will get jammed against the button in the #3 spot. It gets jammed enough that it will not index on the down stroke and the only way to fix it is to push the button out with a flathead screwdriver and then it will index and finish the down stroke. I'm using fully sized cases and #3 buttons (came with 40SW caliber conversion) and obviously the correct shell plate. Cases get a light lube in the case feeder. I've tried using a dremel to reduce the size of the button a little, no luck. Tried using a smaller button, but then the case moves around a little and won't reliably go into the die in pos 3 (bullet feeder die).
2) I get a stick or 2 of powder thrown out of the casing then the machine indexes on the down stroke. This happens on both 40SW and on 223 when loading. I have tried to back off the shell plate screw, but it seems when the shell plate "lands" on the ball bearing it does a little wiggle and most times a stick or 2 of power will fly out, even when I'm going super slow.
Anyone having these issues and fixed them?
Thanks
