Hey all, been collecting and shooting for quite a while and recently been drawn back into it again. However I find myself being particularly interested in odd looking or functionning firearms. Tavor, rhino, mateba, uts15 etc... What do you guys think are odd or inovative handguns?

Remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder!!

I always have to laugh at the .308 conversion kit for a 1911 :D

I collect handguns with unusual actions and with unusual cartridges. Because handguns were in development early in the 20th century (and the end of the 19th), there are a lot of unusual guns among them. I suggest that you do a little research among guns 1885 through 1930, and decide if those are the kinds you want. They are hard to find in Canada, and that may turn you away. But there are some, and some of them are awfully interesting. I picked up a .455 Webley autoloading pistol from 1913, and spent a few months finding a few cartridges for it. Unfortunately, many were made in .25 and .32 (popular European cartridges) and are unobtainable without a "prohibited" license. It is one of the sad things about Canadian gun laws. A 1900 Browning is "prohibited". Sad.

The 460 Rowland 1911 looks pretty cool.

Another guy just posted here about making one. Not something you see every day.

Russian polymer frame/steel frame DA/SA 9mm army pistol. I can find almost no info on it.
The gun looks striker-fired, but is actually hammer fired and the hammer is in the usual position in a recess in the back of the gun.

$535 on Interammo, $699 in steel frame with 6 magazines.

LeMat Revolver was certainly odd...it had 42 cal rounds in the cylinder, and a 16 ga shotgun in the middle.

And before someone ####s all over me...yes, there were a variety of calibers both originally and in modern reproductions.
