I ordered these today. They are advertised as parts guns and refer to them as M48 configuration actions with a variety of markings. Some sport "M48" markings while others have "FN" markings of dubious authenticity,
I am wondering if anyone has seen these before? It looks like a 1916 Spanish style stock on the bottom but otherwise odd.
Any idea waer it could be from or who would have used it?

Thanks in advance!

Are these the ones from Wolverine? I've seen these on auction sites before and wonder about them. They could be cheap shooters if they check out mechanically.

Yes it is from wolverine. I have not received it yet but they sent me a few photos of the one they plan to send me. Any idea of there background?

According to the Yugo Mauser book FN made the first batch of intermediate length Mauser 98 actions known as the M24. Yugo M24s where later refurbed after the war to M24/47s

That looks like a M24/47 built on an early FN made M24 action

Edit: I could be wrong. That stock does look off.

Is there a way to prove or disprove that theory based on the serial numbers?

Perhaps… the Yugoslavians re-manufactured a bunch of odd-ball rifles. If this is indeed a Yugo rework. It may not be…

From what I see that is Spanish model 1916 stock… which is for a Mauser 93/95/96 small ring action. As far as I know FN only made 98 type actions.

FN M24 barreled action in a 1916 stock. Idk. Beats me

There description is as I said and these is the title they have
"SURPLUS M48 Carbine Reworks, 8x57, w/ M96 Straight Grip Stock, 5rd, 23.6"/699mm A Grade PARTS GUN"
Fund it interesting anuff to order and see what I end up with.

FN also made 1889 action rifles, 1893 rifles and carbines, 1922 variant carbines, then onto the 98 action variants in the mid to late 20s.

I also have no clue what the deal with these are.
