Probaby the strangest question asked in this section for a while... I have a Remigton 870 Express Magnum with 18 1/2" barrel. The front bead sits on a block. When sighting do you want to just see the bead over the receiver or the bead and the block? This is the first shotgun I've had like this, all my others have the bead mounted directly on the barrel or rib so there really is no question as to proper sighting with those....

The bead is more of a pointing indicator rather than an aiming one. If you're seeing the block, all your shots within normal range are going high. Set some clay pigeons on a stump or side of a bank and see where your hitting.
