Odd request - Lee Enfields in Netflix/Prime/Disney+?

[Dukeoflawnchair]

Morning folks,

Odd request -

Dusted off my old No4Mk1 this past week and my 8yo is enamoured with it.

Is anyone familiar with any movie or TV show on Netflix, Prime, or Disney+ which had prominent Enfield battle use?

(Think Enemy at the Gates level of prominence, but with a L.E. instead of MN / M98)

Many thanks,

[woodchopper]

Gallipoli

the light horseman

there was also a movie I think it was Blue Max where the british are all using No1 enfields and the germans are all using No4 enfields

In Zulu they didn’t have enough MH’s for the troops/extras so in several scenes where there is company fire, LE’s are mixed in.

1917 is on Netflix. You can usually find a full length copy of A Bridge too Far on YouTube. Passchendael likely would be the best movie for this but unfortunately isn't on Netflix.

Dunkirk

Try The Forgotten Battle on netflix

Go to YOUTUBE and search for Gallipoli 2015. Fantastic Australian series but probably not for an 8 year old

Not sure if these meet your criteria for prominence, but both movies feature LE's, and are an excellent watch:.

The Siege of Jadotville - Netflix
Breaker Morant - Amazon Prime

In the CBC production of Dieppe u know the romance movie they used our tax money to make lol
I put most of the No 4 rifles together for the production when I worked at CanAm if you look close at the guns in the background the wood is miss matched and most have no bolts .lots of fun to do there were iirc 75 rifles complete ones for close ups parts gun for distance ...I did not build the sniper rifle
