Hi All,
Doing some restorations on a couple of No1 Mk3 sporters, and I decided to swap the rather sanded and repaired butt off of a canadian marked 1916 LSA marked one. (Purely for shooting purposes) Interestingly there appears to be some kind of serial number on the wood that goes inside the socket, but it does not match the serial of the rifle. I've also never seen a serial on the butt like this before so i/m not entirely sure what it is.

Any info is appreciated.
