Odpl Match At Colby

On Saturday Dec 13 2008 At the Colby gun club in Waterloo there will be and ODPL match. Anyone with a holster qualification can attend, the match will run from 0800-1500 hrs. The fee will be $20.

This is a action shooting event and if interested and want for info about ODPL, please view www.odplonline.org

This is a concealed match and will be enforced. Only correct holster and gear will be allowed, please check rules at the website listed above.

Come out for a good time and challenge yourself.

Yes, outside of 0800-0845 which has been reserved for a large group, it will be first come first serve.

IDPA has skill level classifications and prizes based upon the winners of a match & required membership.

ODPL has no rankings, nor prizes for top scores. No true membership lists.
It is more of a non-serious competative version of IDPA :)
Many of the same rules (shamelessly adopted) and a couple scoring differences.

ODPL is currently only in SW Ontario with 6 clubs participating at last count.
My current mailing list is about one hundred individuals for event notices.

ODPL is in it for the fun of defensive type shooting. We found in our area (SW Ontario) there was a lack of defensive shooting competions and so we made one up. No membership fees just match fees and alot of good guys and girls getting together to enjoy shooting.

I take better pics ;) More seriously, I had already set aside the time for processing (several hours of cropping, selection, noise reduction due to the poor lighting, etc), and when someone else sends them, they may arrive when I`m fully booked.

Very nice turnout indeed. Narly a dull moment. :p

Thank you to Procedural Pete and all who had a part in setting up some fine stages and all our colleagues who came out with their game faces on. As for me, I went home with a smile rockin' to Zappa on the way.

Happy to have seen some old friends and faces from years gone by and pleased to see some newcomers to the fold. Tuesday night practice seems to have served many of you well.

I hear the next ODPL match in January will also take place at Colby. I'll be there and hope to see many of you then as well.
