ODPL Multi-Gun Match - Sept 27th, 2008!

Er... I'm only middle-aged.

Having said that, as far as I know IPSC multi-guns do one gun per stage. We do two or more. A "Typical" carbine stage would start with carbine, then transition to handgun to finish. Or you might start with a shotgun, unload show clear and stage, then pickup your staged carbine, then move to handgun.

Depends on the course design.

Bottom line, if you can safely handle your firearm, you're welcome.

Ah, so a vest of some sort might work better, thanks.

Most people aren't built like me (a 6+ foot tall barrel) and you can get away with a cheaper pre-organized vest (Think cheap or Ebay and you are out $50 with shipping). Or you can get fully tac'd out for several hundred.

Or buy a couple dump pouches and/or belt caddies and stuff mags and ammo in those.... :)

Oh I will give one little word of advice. The average is TWO guns per stage...
Two vehicles involved, Tins, Pins, Clays, Poppers, Targets, Props, Barriers, Tables, Chairs. Lots and lots of ammo.
And a final stage that will make or break you.

There... The Gauntlet is thrown....

And for some more incentive... The wonderful folks at the newly opened The Gun Centre (formerly Lovett's) have donated some nice items to be randomly drawn between all the competitors.

I will get images up shortly.

Well guys, it's that time of year and we are pulling out the stops. Everyone likes a good scenario and we though to ourselves 'What the hell'. :)

Ask those who attend our matches at Galt and I'm sure they will tell you, our scrolling storylines and setups make for a great and fun time.

This IS a rain or shine event.

:jerkit: this looks super cool:rolleyes:

Can we just run the pistol/shotgun stages if I can't get a new AR upper intime or can't find someone to lend me a upper?

:jerkit: this looks super cool:rolleyes:

If you just being a :jerkit: then don't bother coming out. Some of us actually enjoy shooting themed matches. If you can think of a better theme not overused (aka Afghanistan or other war zone) good for you.

If you haven't seen a ODPL Multigun then I encourage you to come out.
If you don;t have an AR or Shotty, there should be at least one or two competitors who will loan their at the match. Just be sure to bring lots of .223 and 12ga with you :) (Rental fees:))

I've been to a mall ninja match before by accident. Don't worry, I won't be at this one, I stopped playing "make believe" in grade school. This is just the type of stupidity we don't need during an election. Whats wrong with a match that just tests your shooting ability, without using any childish fantasy themes that do nothing but degrade the sporting aspect of whats going on. I'm surprised to see a CSSA director promoting/condoning this type of event.

I won't miss you then. Yup it must degrade the sporting aspect. Oh the horror! A shooting league/group who's point of existence is to have fun with firearms in a safe manner in a GAME. Not every use of a firearm is a competition. Recreational activity comes to mind. You ever hear of PLINKING? How does that enhance the sporting aspect?

As for how I can support this, why are you surprised? I condone/support ANY shooting event as long as it is performed safely and legally. I also promote FUN, and guess what. There are actually a few of us who find participating in a "childish fantasy theme" to be a hoot. If you are not having fun shooting in a "sport shooting" experience, why are you shooting?

IPSC, IDPA, PPC, CDP etc etc... People start into these SPORTS for one reason, because it looks like either fun, a challenge, or both. If you jump in with the sole intention of being the next Todd Jarett then you have a lofty goal, but in the end you had better have fun shooting :). I myself won't get that serious about competing (the main reason I don't do IDPA/IPSC).

In the end what is wrong with ANY match/range session, etc. which people use firearms in a safe and legal manner. Next thing you'll be saying that IDPA/CDP degrades the sporting aspect of the shooting sports because those GAMES have you shoot at "imagined threat targets" for "self-defense".

All of us participants in this match must be a stereotypicial nut job since they dress up in tac gear and legally shoot paper and steel at an approved range in a safe manner. I could care less if the guys who shoot want to think about the "childish fantasy" as you put it. Heck, they can be 100% serious competitor mode for all I care. As long as they stay safe, let them shoot.

I personally find IPSC a waste of time and money, yet I have many friends who shot it or still do shoot it. It's their choice and as long as they want to do it, I say "go for it."

Play Safe. Have Fun.
Two very simple rules to follow. If you cannot do the first one, I don't care if you can follow the second one.

what does it matter if they call the cardboard a zombie or an intruder? Why is it stupid and how do you figure a few guys shooting "zombies" will effect the election? :slap:
