Hi Guys,

Decided I need a chrono if I am going to be reloading in a serious fashion, which I am, so I have been reading and studying various current models, all under $300 and they all look fine and dandy and have every feature under the sun...but I have also found an old Oehler 33 which was the Cadilac in it's day late 70's-80's, and it's priced the same at $200.

So, those of you with Oehler 33 hands on experience, how do you like it and have you compared to current other brands, and should I go for the old standby, or a newfangled unit?

Also, does anyone out there have a scanned manual for the 33 you could email me please and thanks? Would help me make a decision as I have no idea what the 33 is capable of.

Cheers

So I bought the Oehler today and now really need a manual. I picked up 1/2" EMT and a PVC LB type electrical box to make up a mount for my camera type tripod. I'll post pics when it's done for anyone interested in building a rugged, cheap, sub $10 mount.

Thanks to anyone who can provide a copy of the manual, either a scan or other emailable type, or even an old fashioned paper copy.

cheers

Stupid question but have you tried contacting Oehler?

No, not a stupid questions...I have done stupider things....but yes, have tried but no reply. I have however just been contacted by a member here who has one and he is going to scan it this weekend for me (us). :)

Thanks!!

Okay...update. Just tried calling and this time Margie answered....super nice lady, and she apologized for not replying, but said she didn't get my email. Long and the short of it is their website is being updated and I happened to email to an old address that hadn't been removed from the site. So anyway, she has a manual for me and is sending it today. She spent about 10 minutes on the phone with me and pretty much walked me thru the whole setup. That is great support.

Thanks for the support guys, looking froward to trying it this weekend.

Another big vote for Oehler customer service! It's just excellent.
