OFAH site listing Ontario area closures - updates!

If you are less concerned, and in the 99.8% of the population that is not at great risk, maybe roll the dice and have a life.
I would only support this if you signed off on a pledge to seek no public medical assistance if you got sick. No ambulance, no doctor, no free meds, no hospital.

Anyone espousing this 6 ft nonsense needs needs to talk less and read more.

Probably the most dangerous lie of this outbreak is this 6 foot rule. Some people are capable of sneezing or coughing particulate up to 20 ft.

And it doesnt matter how far away from someone you are if they arent infected. Who you have contact with is 1000 times more relevant than the distance you keep. And then there is this thing called the space/time continuum. The space/time separation that is required is UP TO 20 ft for UP TO 20 days. And thats not dtay away from infected people for 20 days, but stay away from places they have been for 20 days.

When a sick person coughs on the sidewalk there is now virus on the sidewalk viable for at least a few hours if not days. If you keep back 100 meters but then a few minutes later you walk in it you now have virus on your shoes. When you take your shoes off its now on your hands, and when you rub your nose you have been exposed.

I see people at the grocery store conatantly keeping their distance from people like everyone leperacy but then touch everyone that everyone else touches and then take their mask off to pick their nose.

The truth is there was never any way we were going to shut this down. 99% of people simply lack the basic understanding in disease transmission AND the neurotic vigilance required to live in a contaminated environment.

Your suggestion of 20 ft and 20 days as well as a few more typos than usual makes me wonder if you’ve been day drinking? ;). Seriously though, I think most people take off their shoes without touching the soles....this is a virus, not plutonium.

<issed opportunity to say "no".....I still have a landline with call display and never answer numbers I do not recognize.

Stay Safe!

This was on our land line. I find that by answering, it confirms that someone is home. Hopefully discourages any further plan. We have had some really strange happenings here over the last few years.

I think his point is: "Stay home you covidiot!"

I'm in. As long as obese people, smokers, drinkers, drug addicts, careless drivers and Jay walkers are included as well.

I'm an optimist, and figure I'll fall into the 25% of people that get this bug and don't even know it rather than the .5% of healthy people that require any medical attention at all.

well this sure put a dent in my spring bear hunting plans... like the small town park example someone mentioned, i wonder how long the gov. can keep this up until widespread civil disobedience starts ?

It’s not us people who do solitary things, it is the flocking that happens when Facebook groups start telling the masses where to go. Next thing you know, tons of people appear. Don’t think for a second lawyers aren't advising municipalities to close everything to avoid liability too. I’m annoyed at the closures as much as anyone, but I’m more annoyed at people from urban centers flocking...stay home!

Yup. As far as I can tell Ontario is handling this pretty modertately. Most of the things that seem draconian, like closing boat launches is from looking at place in the states and extrapolating the outcome. Sadly, they have to make rules for morons, not for the responsible.

...you cannot regulate stupidity, but I understand that the OPP were giving tickets out in the last several days to people in boats on Upper Rideau Lake, despite these being year round residences. Seems a bit much, as they not using public launches, with family members only....???

With everyone staying home, eventually the bears will come wandering right past your front door. Convenient or what?

Thats ridiculous! With all this spending of money the governments are doing, these tickets will serve as a much needed revenue stream...

Obviously I'm not intimately familiar with the boats you're referring to, but in the Ottawa area there were a lot of people blatantly violating rules about park usage and then complaing about the unfair tickets they'd received. All of a sudden everyone's turned into the guy who "had no idea I was speeding officer".

These are not wake rule/speeding violatons....simply not "isolating" .....I think some goverment types getting a huge hard on by this "charge for whatever the #### I say" law.....sad times indeed.
