Well, it is finally that time again! :) I will be headed to NE BC for a Moose and Elk hunt.

Leaving Monday for at least a week. Will be packing one of 2 - 8mm rifles, my 325 WSM,
Shooting the Norma 196 grain Dual-Core @ c. 2900, and my 8mm Rem Mag, shooting the
200 A-Frame @ c. 3200. Both these rifles are sub-moa with their respective loads.

So, if a legal Moose or Elk shows, I believe they will be in serious trouble.
Will report back when I return. D

Well, I'm back from our moose/elk hunt. The weather was brutal....hot, hot, hot. Daytime temps in the high 20's, dusty on any back road.
Moose was a bust. Only saw 3 on the last days of August....no bulls.
But we live in one of the Greatest hunting areas in North America
Yesterday, about 10 minutes into legal shooting time, a 5x4 Elk showed up at about 160 yards on crown land.
He was quartering towards, but that 8mm Mag and the A-Frame did it's stuff.
Broke the front upper leg, coursed through heart and lungs and ended up in the paunch.
He swung as if to run, but collapsed within 10 feet. DRT. Very nice, healthy young bull. Going to be great eating.
Couple of pictures will follow. I have a snap of the A-Frame too....picture perfect.
Pretty happy camper here. D.
