Off to get a moose

Yeah kev - the cows were just starting to call when i left. Just a warm year this year i guess - just weren't moving like they normally would. I hear it's going to get cold this week tho - should straighten things out.

I am tempted to go chase a moose, but I have become obsessed with getting a California Bighorn, so much so that it I don't care if I don't punch any of my other tags...

Well, you are a man of focus :)

what exactly happened?

Pop instead of bang. Dad had 100 rounds made up many years ago and has been shooting 'em since with no prob. This one he had a monster bull lined up, perfect shot, and when the gun went off it kind of went 'pop'. About half the noise, little recoil, it was crystal clear something was wrong. I have no idea where the bullet went but an hour and half of searching, no moose or hint of a hit. Very disappointing. The case is prestine too - no blow back scoring of any kind in the slightest around the neck - looks like it just came out of the bag.

ANy word from the rest of the gang?

Did they get that big one?

Sadly, the next morning g's sister died and we had to send the cops in to fetch 'em. They threw everything in the trucks and blasted out to make it back for the funeral.

Luck was just not with us this trip. Ah well.
