Offhand shooting

40,60,77 and 100m. Small Bore silhouette. We shoot Rams at 100M which would certainly have more surface area than a clay pigeon and the best I've run off in competition was 10 (once). And only seen it done a handful of times by some pretty incredible silhouette shooters...

Well if your ever near Calgary Ill drop a $100 on seeing you shoot 200m with irons offhand with a 22!

I've done it. Although I was only wanting to hit an 4x8 foot piece of backer board. But it's not that hard if you know the drop and can reference a point. This was with my Henry .22WMR.

And, I've done it out to 300m. Drop that far with this round is around 75 inches.

Bought my NS522 for offhand shooting. Figure I need the practice and that gun is pretty similar is weight and trigger to my .22-250 and .308 . Should help with the very odd free hand shot I have to take hunting. Usually have the gun resting on stix for the most part.

The last time I shot one of my 22's at 200 ,meters I went 10 for 10 on the 200 meter high power chicken, with 5 or 6 people watching.
My free time is limited to such that if I am heading south it will be on a hunting trip.
If you habve such a hard time believing that someone can do that , well , so be it.

The reason why I asked this question is Im having a dueling tree made and at 50yds the 2" targets look crazy small.
I'm not saying it cant be done. Heck bench rest with a good scope even @ 100yds isn't bad but offhand. The clays are say 5-6" Thats fantastic shooting offhand if your hitting them every time.

Guess I could learn a lot from watching you shoot.
From the bench a clay bird at 100 yards is a chip shot
Here is a 200 yard target that I shot with a Remington model 37 a few years back
Mind you this is not offhand with irons, but benched with a Unertl RTB

Sure off bench is apples and oranges different. Thats why I asked the original question.

You seemed to be cynical of even at 100 yards benched by the above post , that is why I posted that 10 shot 200 yard group, it's far smaller than a clay bird.
Threads like this always turn into a pizzin' match so I'll say adios here.
Have a great day!
