Just wondering, but does anybody sell Officer 1911s with legal barrels in Canada? :( I'd love to have one of each size 1911 and an Officer is the one I can't seem to find.

In the US the Officer's used to be made with a Commander 'upper' I think these would be great for Canada. I'm sure someone could easily build these for Canada. The availability of the frames would be the hard part, I'm not sure if the frame itself would be prohib.

I doubt the frame would be prohib. That status is determined by barrel length. That being said, it would probably be hard to come by just a frame unless a prohib collector happens to want to part one out for some reason.

I can't speak for all 1911 brands but the Colts and Detonics I collect.
Both of these Officiers models have very little in common with the full size 1911s or Commanders. The barrels use a different style of bushing, the frames are much shorter as are the slides and obviously the barrels. the grip saftie and mainspring housings are also different on the Officiers models.
It may be possible to have a custom barrel installed but to to have good functionality with over an inch of barrel past the bushing could be a real trick unless a ramped barrel was used.
To butcher an Officiers model would be almost a crime.

Marstar, although they are sold out.

Not 100% traditional, but close.
