Officers Model Colt revolver....

I have been asked a question about this revolver by a friend. I do not have any pics. It is marked "Officers Model Colt B'A' ". It is in 38S&W and has a six inch barrel. Serial # is in the 271,### range. He would like to have some history. Thanks, Dave

Could BA be DA? Could be a target pistol numbered in the New Army and Navy series which would make it 1906 production.
Likely in 38 LC or SPL.
