Prior to March 2004, a login was not required.

How about I say that pre March 2004 some guys were members and some were lurkers as no login was required and after a crash in March 2004 a login was required.

Interesting discussion. If I had to guess when CGN was running, I believe it was after 2000. Maybe 2001? I checked my Firingline forum join date and it is 12 Nov 2000. I can't remember exactly but I know that I was TFL and Glocktalk forum before CGN. I seem to recall somebody posting on GT that there was a new canadian gun forum and the rest is history. Pretty sure I was on CGN before I joined the military in 2002 so I am going to say 2000/2001...

There were multiple crashes and even a passing of the hat for donations to get a more stable server. I find the olden days depressing, seeing how many folks were banned, or died.
