I am curious as to what is most popular the 542 or the 540?
I would like to own both over time.
I am worried that everyone will go for a 542 and you might not order the 540s for a while afterwards?
Does it really matter which I pre-order now? or will you try to have them both on a continuous basis in the long run?

No wheel lock option?

This is a good question. I think what happens with the Swiss Arms fiasco will influence the popularity of the 540's, but it won't be the only factor. Range reports and the like from people who've pre-ordered the 540 will also be a factor, and considering that these look to be very good rifles but retail for a bit lower than the Swiss Arms, these will probably be reasonably popular.

I do not think availability will be a huge problem, I doubt TI brought these into the market and go through the classification process just to not sell any. Of course though, they could answer this a lot better than any speculation from myself could.

If the RCMP come to my door to collect my swiss arms. I'm going to buy two 540 rifles to compensate. So yea the swiss arms thing will influence the 540 series at least a little.

But I think most people are more level headed than that and will wait it out and fight for the swiss arms.

The biggest advantage in these two rifles to us Canadians is the 7.62 model. I think the big $$$ savings over the swiss sapr makes the FAMAE a winner for Canada.

I think that you're referring 7.62x39 cartridge and I dont see 540 in that caliber on the website. I really want one!

No, the 7.62x51 542 model. This rifle will scratch the FAL/G3 itch for a lot of us (myself included) and will also fill the "military battle rifle that is not an M14" void that we have in Canada. Even considering the price, I think the 542 will be a seller.
