Official XCR-M Release!

I am taking the plunge and getting one is 260. 308 is nice but I like the high BC bullets and extra speed of the 260.
Plus I can wait a bit as I gotta move some other rifles to afford one of these.

Why is it that whenever I am short of gun cash the newest and best becomes available?

When I do get the cash and because I am a hunter first I am leaning towards getting it in 338 Federal (hopefully that chambering will be available soon) the BC's are just awesome just look at the Nosler Accubonds a 225gr = .550 BC & a 225gr Barnes TTSX = .514 BC load these to 2500 - 2550fps in the 18.6" barrel = oh yeah now that would be a awesome hunting combo I could take on anything that I ever encounter here in BC with that baby...

:D

Yeah ok but for some reason I don't think I'll be packing my -L in 223 or 6.6spc in grizzly country and I can place my shots... ;)

Becasue they always go with heavy barrel - people are complaining they are heavy on one hand, but we all know the second people got their rifles they will do grouping masturbation on a bench and try to somehow produce one inch group to make themselves feel good about the purchase - despite people are screaming the otherwise. People are like yeh yeh yeh I want a light rifle - but they won't forgive a rifle that won't group on a bench, even though benching and shooting dime sized group is NOT the purpose of buying such a rifle.

Wolverine is smart - they figured this out long time ago and take the configuration that sells the most rifles. It is better to hear that the rifle is an anchor instead of complaints that the rifle is shooting a group that is 2" at 100m instead of 1.5"

But it would be nice to have the choice of barrel we want... CFC are not going to restrict a rifle just because you can get shorter barrels thats stupid. Anyone can cut off a barrel if they want to do it the illegal way. If you want to put a shorter barrel on an XCR, change it's registration to Restricted, or dont and live with the consequences.

Wolverine Supplies is the Canadian importer for all the Robinson Arms.
If Canadians start doing illegal modifications with their non-restricted XCR, try to guess who is going to get a housecall by RCMP?
try to guess who will lose the ability to import anon-restricted weapon to sell to Canadians?

If you want a lighter barrel just get the heavy 18.6" one fluted, it will cost you something like 140-200$ and your rifle will be lighter and balance much better.

As for the heavy barrel itself, my 223 Rem XCR-L really shoots extremely well: it regularly shoots under 1/2" at 50m indoor with PMC M193 ammo and Federal 69 Gold Match and 1-1.5" at 100m outdoor.

Why would the RCMP stop Wolverine from importing a gun because someone can shorten the barrel? You can shorten it on any rifle you want, it was probably even done hundreds of times... Same with shotguns. What someone does with their rifle does not give the right to the RCMP to make it prohibited...

Any idea if Robinson is going to make a pencil thin barrel that we could special order instead of going through the fluting method? I'm more into packing mine through the sticks and hills than MoA groupings is all.

The more I look at this rifle the more I want one in 338 Federal...

I'm even starting to think about putting my OD green -L with uppers in 223 & 6.8spc up for sale to get it...

Yeah I know I probably won't do it but I'm thinking... :D

Need to have a -M in my hands before I decide...

I love my XCR-L and as much as I'd like to have the M, it is just too heavy. Why would anyone carry a rifle that heavy and expensive for hunting? I don't see what nich it would fill other than liking the look of it.

It's like hunting with an M1A. I do it because I enjoy that rifle. But I lift weights so the M1A feels for me like a Rem700 for a skinny citizen. Battle rifles are not for girls (well most of them).
The XCR-M fills the nich that was empty because the AR-10 is restricted.

If it's not for you, that's fine, you'll save money. And it will save a rifle for the many guys that needs one.

What is the finish going to be on the FDE model?
Cerakote is used on the XCR-L I believe.

I've been beating my XCR-L in the bush for over 1 1/2 years now I absolutely no issues of any kind with the Cerakote finish on my rifle.
