Can you put a riser (the kind you'd use to co-witness the T1 on the receiver top) between the KAC mount and the T1 or is it blocked by the windage knob on the scope?

Seems like that would solve the height issue if it's visible.

Had a chat with some Trijicon Folks at shot in FLA asking why they put it on top, the guy incharge of buying them wanted it there even though the users didn't is what I was told.
if having it on top was faster, you'd see that setup being used by everyone on the 3G circuit, but they're not.

Because the 3G people don't use the optic the same way as the regular infantry soldiers. Much better situation awareness to have the Dr. Optic sitting on top of the ACOG, either in a close environment or sitting at a defensive position. Rotating the rifle sideways do not work too well with all the armour and webgear either, especially when the rifle has IR and light on it as well. IMHO, it makes tunnel vision.

And finally, having the Dr. optics on top of the ACOG is much more compatible with NBC gear.
