Offset iron sights on a hunting rifle

I had thought about that - but low magnification on a 3-9 scope is OK at short range. They might get caught on trees and you would lose the extra light gain at sunrise and sunset.

Yeah i run a 2-10 so its pretty good short range, still not as fast as irons and i would like them as a back up for the scope too

Depends on what you're hunting, used as a sniper rifle on occasion, for it's accuracy. :)

Grizz

They're offset due to gun design, not offset for a short range alternative to a magnified optic(I'm assuming that's what the OP was thinking when he asked the question?)... Of course, you know that and are just being difficult for the fun of it lol

Not a hunting rifle.

If I could, I'd hunt with one. Unfortunately I missed my chance to 12x classification and our dumb laws make it impossible now.

To the OP, is the plan to use them with scope for close shots or to solve a eye dominance issue? If its for close shots there are offset mounts for red dot sites that might work?

If I really needed something for close shots on my hunting rifle, I'd top it with something that had low magnification. Hard to argue with a 2-7x, but you can get a 1-8x strike eagle for a fair price too if you need that 1x magnification.

Yeah I’m going to top it with a 2-10. But still think irons will be faster and a good back up in case the scope breaks/fogs, I’ve been known to fall on my ass in the snow filling my scope with snow haha

Or! You could put on an off set dildo! Lol just kitten. I’m only pulling ur paws. What ever gets you out hunting and what ever makes it easier or more enjoyable to you. I mean I don’t even hunt with a scope and today that’s like a lost art.
