Oh, there's one more thing....stun baton just arrived today....

Just for everyone's information. These are legal, but that will not stop the ramp from charging you and confiscating them. My co worker was pulled over for speeding and then searched. When they found his batons (2) they asked him why he had them in his vehicle, he said for hiking/wildlife protection. The rcmp took them from him and charged him with two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon. His reasoning was that even though they are legal, he did not buy his story about hiking. His court date just got pushed back.. Be aware and I suggest carrying a print out of the law and your receipt from canadaammo. I still have mine, not trying to scare you guys. But don't fool around with these!

More punishment by process for protecting yourself.
I carry a rather substantial wooden walking stick around on my walks thru town because some people figure a 150 pound Rotty on a 10' leash being walked on a 5' wide sidewalk is a restrained dog.
The stick has a 4" wide gall on the end and will knock a big dog silly.
Have had a few close encounters of the canine kind.

I think that the major part of the problem is that they just don't know.

They know but don't care.
Punishment by process dished out to anyone who has any object that by even the remotest stretch of the imagination can be construed to be a defensive weapon.
I'm surprised I haven't been charged for my wooden walking stick which is 5' long and has a large natural wooden gall on the handle end.
It is being legitimately used as dog defense as I've had a few tense encounters with big owner protective dogs being walked on the public sidewalks.

Former Prohibited Weapons Order, No. 3

6. Any device that is designed to be capable of injuring, immobilizing or incapacitating a person or an animal by discharging an electrical charge produced by means of the amplification or accumulation of the electrical current generated by a battery, where the device is designed or altered so that the electrical charge may be discharged when the device is of a length of less than 480 mm, and any similar device.

480mm = 18.89 inches lest any of you think that stun guns are not prohibited. This one is OK because of it's length. And anything being carried for offensive purposes can get you in hot water.

Does NOT make you drop to the ground, immobilized and twitching out.

My last stun baton was 7.5 million volts before I broke it.
Honestly doesn't hurt that much, just loud and intimidating. Feels like getting snapped with an elastic and leaves you with an adrenaline charge.

But at about 50 bucks, its a good price imo

Stupid on his part.....why would he consent to a search of his/her vehicle.....it's just speeding....no reasonable grounds for search unless he was impared.....he buried himself

Had a supervisor at LPS tell me these were illegal no matter how long they were and became rude when I insisted they were legal. But...he's been doing it for 25 years so....

So, i managed to find the manufacturer of this 1132 Type Stun baton in CHINA, apparently, it appeared to be a WELL MADE product.

Stun baton OEM SPEC:
6061-T6 aluminum body casing.
CREE XPE LED 350 lumen
Battery will last: LED Light only (4Hr) or Stun function discharge only (1Hr)
Discharge Voltage: the original manufacturer spec is 38 million volt. (Stun gun voltage means not much, its the Amperage that "hurts").

Stun gun is a "pain compliance" tool, not a touch and put an animal tool, you may need 3-5 seconds full contact to get the job done.

This is a good deal in my opinion. Retail for about $400RMB in CHINA or = $80CAD.

In terms of legality, i'm comfortable to buy and posses the CANADA AMMO stun baton, since its longer than 480mm in full length.
