Just rolled in from the weekend in Ohio and doing some catching up on messages and emails. Did a little flag waving (sole Canuck car there) and feel I represented Canada well, here are a couple pics and if the interest is there I shall post a few more.

^ A pair of "ten year restoration" veterans basking in the sun coming together, and trust me, the schwimmer was the far easy of the two.

Yes that is a REAL SdKfz251. Not to take anything away from OTs..... but this 251 is the real deal, a 110% correct, German wartime SdKfz251, right down to the correct numbers stamped into the armour plates!! To be honest it was/is a "feast to the eyes" to take in all the details and talk to the guys who did the restoration.

^ The fastest way to tell a 251 from a OT is just look at the tracks, the 251 has pads, lube points and totally different then a OTs dry pin.

And here is the control numbers stamped on the plate before it is sent out to be heat treated, note the thin vision slit for the driver that actually gives the driver a surprisingly good view out

Oops, this is in the milsurp forum? Thought for sure with a title like that this was going to turn into a couple dozen pages of pics from everything. Should I remove my post?

^ I was just having a little fun with the title (and more then a little "road drunk"). Nice rifle onetwentyish, leave it up. Its not every weekend that one gets to ride around in a 251 or participate in the largest (and only) gathering of German wartime vehicles in North America.

The End.

your garage is at least one more gathering of German wartime vehicles in North America.

Thanks for the compliments guys, the 251 came out of France, went to the Czech Republic then to the US where the lions share of the restoration and fabrication took place. That vehicle has been restored to a VERY VERY standard. Here are a couple more pics from the weekend and I am looking forward to next years run.

^Lining up for a trail ride.

^ A couple of 166s taking to the water.

^ Pair of 166s and a GPA sharing the pond, The GPA is huge compared to a 166.

^ Going in.

^ Going out.

Just culling and sorting some pics from Ohio.

Saturday afternoon line up and group pic time, This year we had eight schwimmers show up and seven kubels, generally more kubels show but it is all good.

^ "representing"

^ Vehicles milling about and getting a trail ride organized.

^ After the trail rides and pic taking on Sat afternoon its time to get serious and go to WAR at the lake. Vehicle getting marshalled and prepped to "take the fight off shore".

^ Going into action, enemy within range!!!

^ FEUER !!

^ And a great (but rather wet) time is had by all the kids (of all ages).
