Oil inside striker channel of vp9?

so I just got my hk vp9, and I an very happy with it.
Although, when I removed the striker I discovered that it was slathered with a thick film of oil. same for the striker channel.
I thought that area was supposed to be bone-dry, is it different for this gun?
Mine was second hand, so it could have been the previous owner.

Oil in there could result in attracting/capture of brass shavings, which may eventually result in light strikes due to obstructing the travel of the firing pin. I’d try to clean that out, easy enough. YMMV.
