I just received a brand new Beretta A300 Outlander courtesy of Ducks Unlimited. The wood has an oiled finish and I'd like to protect the wood as well as bring out its natural beauty. What should I apply? Tung oil? Tru Oil? This is my first "wood" SG so any tips would be appreciated.

Do not put tru oil or anything like that. Your best bet is to polish it with a wax finish. If it was a bare not finished stock then you would use tru oil or BLO.

Tung oil and lot's of elbow grease. It will take a long time but you will end up with a fine very glossy oil finish that will bring out the beauty of the walnut. Apply very small amount of tung oil once or twice per year after that. Stay away from Tru-oil.

Lemon oil is what you want, I prefer the Old English name brand. Available at most hardware stores.

Ok I've got one recommendation for wax, one for tung oil, and another for lemon oil...anyone care to break the 3-way tie ;)
The gun already has a new finish on it so there is no need to try and put more on.
I wax my new shotguns and rifles, and then buff them.

if the finish was load a receding, I would knock it down a bit with 0000 steel wool and then use Tru Oil on it, but on new stocks , wax is all that is needed.

I use Howard Feed N Wax, it makes the woodgrain "pop" right out . Been using it for years, one bottle goes a looooong way. After a few coats it polishes to a nice sheen and smells like citrus, my Berettas and CZ's look amazing.

+1 on the a light wax polish. Some people use Pledge but too slippery for my taste.
That said how do you like the A300 so far? I couldn't find one to look at.
