Ok I got it my first rifle.

What kinda of cleaning are you needing to do??? If it's new and you need to degrease it, Simple Green works awesome for that. Chilliwack Dart will have gun cleaning kits for the barrel and such...
 
Simple green: out####ingstanding to clean that M14. There should be a cleaning kit right there in the butt for ya, even comes with a gas tool.
 
For the trigger group, bolt, op spring I put about 1/4 cup into a litre of hot hot hot water and let them all soak. Then scrubbed em down with a medium toothbrush. I sprayed it straight from the bottle into the receiver and all over the barrel and gas system exterior then scrubbed it with the toothbrush then rinsed with water as hot as it would come outta the tap.

For the gas plug and piston I did it the old fashioned way and wiped and wiped with a cloth and used Q tips.

I only used about 1/5 of the spray bottle of Simple Green so that means I need four more rifles hehehehe

Forgot to add that I then rubbed down the exterior of the rifle with CLP and lubed the bolt etc with only white lithium grease which requires very little.
