OK, I keep hearing the call to get more shooters, and I'm game for any shooting fun. :) I'm of the long range persuasion, and shoot informally as such, about time I joined the circuit.

Now I'd just like to ask what classes my rig's legal for, and when the next shoots are coming, happy to province hop, and who to get in touch with.

Here's the rig I'll be using:

-Rem 700 action
-Timney Tactical Trigger
-27" barrel chambered in my wildcat, 7mm AIM (non-magnum, case capacity similar to .308)
-Fixed 16X scope
-Factory HS precision varmint type stock.

Well that rifle will fit into the precision/sniper style matches and will also fit into the F(O) Open class. Check your PRA web sites for upcoming matches but chances are nothing will be posted until closer to the spring.
To find your PRA web sites there are links to most of them on the DCRA web site w ww.dcra.ca

You could run that rig at any of thhe three rifle rodeos in Alberta in several classes.
You could also shooot it at Burns lake in their long range match.
None of these matches are sanctioned by thhe DCRA, but they are tough and competition is high, to say the least.

If you ever make your way out to Saskatchewan, come down to Nokomis & shoot with the SPRA, that rig would fit right in to F(O) class, and there's quite a few of us.

I'm pretty sure they also shoot that class in Alberta, but I can't say from experience (yet!)

F(O) in Kamloops and Chilliwack/Mission. Fun shoot in Summerland and Osoyoos. Burns Lake km shoot. Not sure what is happening in Nanaimo/Vancouver Island these days. Same goes for the Kootneys.

Then there are the sniper shoots put on by Skullboy.

You can be busy every weekend from April till Oct. Then there is hunting season....

Sounds like I'll have a busy summer, thanks folks
If you think summer is busy, look into September and October.

The U.S. F Class Championships are being held in New Mexico in September.
The NSCC in Connaught (Ottawa) is in September (your rifle is built for this).
The club championships for Ontario are held usually in September and October (Mons, Cedar Springs, Winona). And finally the Palma shoot at Mons in October, which is 800, 900, and 1000 yards. When you're at 1K with 2 other shooters on the same target taking turns, and you put all your shots into the 10 ring or better...the most fun with your pants on.
