I have had a Mathews SQ2 since 2001.
Other than reserving and string changes I have done nothing to it. It is plenty accurate for a 31 ince axle to axle and has 8.5 inch brace height. Very good hunting bow.
For a beginner I would reccomend getting a release aid. It will help you be accurate quicker with practise.
Don't SKIMP out on your accessories. Buy the best you can afford.
Bettter to pay more up front for quality products then replace them later when the cheaper ones fail and they will.
I would stay away from Vista and Toxonics. I have had more problems with those 2 than any other.
A bow from Mathews, Bowtech, Martin, PSE, Browning, Hoyt etc etc are all going to be a quality product.
If I was to reccomend one Bow in particular it would APA because it is a GREAT fast line of bows and is Canadian owned and manufactured.(in Biggar,Sk). Their Viper bow is supposed to be awesome.
