I see by far the most talked about .22's are the 10/22's. I shot a regular stock 10/22 in stainless and it didn't feel like a real gun. It was very small. With that being said, I have seen some pictures of some of YOURS (members)and they look cool as hell. I am in the market for a ACCURATE .22 I love range & bench shooting. What are the options needed to make a very accurate 10/22 and what do these options cost?

I really want a good looking semi auto .22

CZ......Looks ugly as hell and you can't get a semi in stainless

Silver Lynx....Really heavy better looking than the CZ semi. I don't know a whole lot about the gun. I was holding one a epps about 1 year ago but don't remember 100%.

I have been looking for 2 months and still don't know which way to go!

Ok but what parts would you need to change and why???????

I took a look at all the parts they have and I don't know what the hell you should change and why????

Triggers, barrels, stocks, etc. what the hell do you use off a 10/22 and why buy one if you change everything????

I am not being an ass....I seriously don't know!
 
It's all a part of creating a "special to you" rifle...it's more of an addiction with the 10/22's than anything.......replacing the hammer will tune the pull weight of the factory trigger down by quite a bit,which will in turn possibly shrink your groupings somewhat....aftermarket barrels are a prefernce thing whether it be a heavy barrel are regular sporter, the chamber tolerances are tighter,therefore improving accuracy...ammo selection plays a huge role in this as well...each rifle has it's own special favourite,it's up to you to find it
If you plan on buliding/customizing a 10/22 all ya basically would use to get rolling is the triggergroup and the reciever and the bolt

I have one, it is beyond a doubt the best "feeling" .22 I own, and as far as looks/operation goes? Cool factor is off the charts (IMHO)

Besides....EVERYONE has a 10/22:p

I can't see buying one of those unless you sawed off the barrel and stock and held up corner stores......:eek:
 
22RF accuracy can be summed up in one word - Anschutz.
Take a look at the rifles that are NOT Anschutz in the Olympics, World Championships, Commonwealth game, Pan Am, atc.
it is weasier to count those that are not Anschutz.
Same as Biathalon.
22BR? yup, there are lots there also, but you see more customs on a 22BR line.
Not many 10/22's in these competitions.

The 1st one I got was a POS.

The replacement works perfectly and is very accurate. Mine is for sale, only because I wanted to customize, and I have a Walther single shot and have just bought an Anschutz

I hear you... they definitely have their own unique/odd look to them. Yeah they definitely aren't available in stainless, no CZ is, only blue. (A few nickel bolts though.) I have heard though that they are are really accurate out of the box. Admittedly, it seems many of the CZ-511's I have quite plain wood.

I have just bought the one below but haven't received it yet. I'm NOT much of a semi kinda guy but have several bolts. (Almost exclusively Brnos with a few CZ's cousins thrown in.) I mainly bought this one as it is a CZ rim-fire I didn't have, the price was really right ($250 w/o scope) delivered and the wood ....IMHO, is sooo nice. (See pics below) As quality and as accurate as the 511's are I have to also admit that there's little to no after market support for them. (Still fairly an uncommon rifle.) See what you think of the looks of this one. Not to flame anyone as it's really just personal taste... I have had 10-22's and to me they've always looked pregnant. :p

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess, but they are definitely odd looking aren't they. I don't have the rifle version but I've had a Field 5.5 and a Target 5.5 for years that I really love. I think that this is one whose looks grow on you after a while...I bet it sure gets a lot of attention.

On the buckmark rifle, is the action the same as on the pistols? I don't know if I would like the slide bouncing off my nose on every shot.
The CZ there is nice, but I hate those butt's.....looks like like a sportered mosin butt. :puke:

On the BM Rifle: You know...since I don't have the rifle version, I never thought of that. Good point..so what's the answer Wrong Way?

On the CZ...Thx. Yeah it has the European style hog-back and it definitely seems to be personal preference thing; either you like it or you don't. They have started to grow on me more over time. One thing about them that many people say, is that if you're shooting irons, there is nothing that quickly and intuitively throws to the point better. Make sense?
 
The slide on the Buckmark only travels about an inch and a half. You'd have to have a considerably large nose to have it hit you. If you face was that close to the frame, your eye relief for a scope would be crap.

That is good looking semi IMO. I would love to have that in stainless!

If I could get a CZ semi in stainless I would try it!

As for you MR. Browning....I have a Savage model 99 in .300 savage that is mint! It is over 50 years old and shoots 1" groups all day. I also have a .270 WSM stainless 16FSS with a stainless Elite 3200 that looks GREAT to me. And looks even better when you see the groups. With a caldwell lead sled I had 9 out of 10 shots touching at 100 yards! If savage or Tikka made a high quality .22 I would buy it! Hell I might just buy the cheap ass stainless model 64 and see how it shoots. I haven't been let down by any savage or Tikka I have ever shot. I have been let down by many other brands....Thus the name Savage17.....should of been Savage/Tikka17!

I bet many people think those buckmasters look like :eek: They definately are for a nitch market....definately not the main stream!
