Seller thought it was a bayonet for a No 4 Mk 1 Enfield- Obviously not, but what is it? Tent pole base, flag pole stand??? May not even be military. Anybody care to enlighten?

No idea ,, but equally intriguing is what the heck is it resting on? :)

Was wondering that myself, but that's the pic he sent- seems to be levitating in front of that easy chair? Unless the picture is upside down?? Guessing by the stains that it isn't momma's best parlour furniture.

I'm pretty sure it's what the proctologist puts up your rectum when you get a colonoscopy done. I'm basing my guess on how my bum felt when I came to in the recovery room.

The stake has to be wood for vampires not the mallet. Geez!
I'd guess it has nothing to do with The Queen's Service and is a portable hole of used by a real estate agent.

Is it like the Acme Roll-up Portable holes that Wile E. Coyote uses? Maybe it's a discarded portable hole carrying case?

Nope, clearly that thing isn't attached to your proctologist. I'm sorry to learn of what happened to you, it's not your fault. There are people you can talk to who will help you with how you're no doubt feeling.

No idea what that thing is OP. Any stampings?

Waiting on more details from seller- he had a sporterized No 4 that his Grandpappy had, and this was stored along with it. He thought it was a bayonet for the No 4. I asked for more pictures (said to come apart in the middle , not sure what's inside) and hasn't gotten back to me on any markings. It's about 18-20" long altogether and of heavy construction.

It might be a base or field spike for mounting a guidon or camp flag. Looks to be about the right size to socket a pole into the open end and the spike looks rusty like it's been in the dirt. If it comes apart in the middle it would be easier to pack.
