Ok, I've decided.....

I've decided to attempt to build a more accurate rig out of my AR180B, building it into a longer-range non-restricted black rifle for varminting and target shooting, as long as I get around 1" grouping or less @100yrds. I'll be happy since this is my first rifle and all, and am just curious as to what accuracy I can wring out of the rifle. I have the following list for parts for the "build":

-Railed Forend
-Scope Mount
-Bipod Adapter
-Bipod
-High-Powered Tac. Scope (Possibly Mueller 8.5-25x44AO)
-Flip-up lens covers
-Sling adapter for forend
-Nicer stock (opinions?)
-Possibly (Most Likely) re-barrel to longer/heavier barrel

Anything missing from the list? I also have a couple questions: First, since I'm on a tight budget, should I wait a little while and purchase everything together, or should I just pick up parts here and there? I'm guessing if I wait and get everything on at the same time that would be the best option..... Also, if/when I decide to re-barrel, should I go with a 1:9 twist or a faster twist rate? Are heavier bullet weights more desirable for longer-range (200yrds.+) shooting or should I stick with medium-weights? What other high-power scopes would you reccomend (keeping in mind I'm on a tight budget)? And lastly, when talking about the AR180B having "loose tolerances", what is that reffering to? The cartridge sitting in the chamber, or the tolerances between the upper and lower, or overall? Thanks for the help, sonce this is going to be my first time "pimpin" out a rifle I could use some help/suggestions/ideas. Thanks for all your help!

Sounds good, I don't think it will take too long to get it together anyways..... By the way, does anyone know if there is a stock adapter for the AR180B to take AR15 stocks? I am interested in getting the Magpul PRS stock, but I don't think there is any way of getting it mounted to an AR180B..... What other stocks (non-folding) would you reccomend? I am also thinkign of the Magpul M93B stock or UBR, or something similar, will it mount onto the tubular stock adapter for the AR180B? Thanks.

Keep in mind that your goal is unachievable. The AR can NEVER be 'built' into a non-restricted. They are restricted by name in an OIC, and can not be fired outside of an approved range.

If varminting is your goal, you can not legally use an AR15 for that purpose.

Nice idea, poor research and execution... ;)

Will the stormwerkz mount accept an AR15 stock such as a Magpul? I know the second adapter will accept a carbine stock, so I will go with one if I can't mount a Magpul PRS or anything nicer.

I do not think the PRS does??? I know the others do, but the PRS looks like it mounts straight onto the rifle? I kinda wanted the PRS, but if it won't work I'll have to go with one of the others..... :(

EDIT TO ADD: I am also contemplating leaving the factory stock as I like full size stocks, and it will probably be more rigid?

BTW, what scope power do you reccomend? I want something decent for long range, but don't want it over-scoped to the point that it shoots all around the crosshairs. Also, I want to keep it 'tactical' just for the looks ;) , the leupold mark 4's are way out of my price range, any suggestions? I want 3-9x or higher......(remember, not too much power...)

I am sorry, the Magpul PRS does not fit directly onto the stock adapter, I was thinking of the carbine stocks from Magpul.
The Magpul m93, CTR and UBR stocks will fit with ease.

PRS fits on a A1 stock buffer tube
-- it should work on the stock adaptor since the input (buffer tube) is the same pitch and the bottom "lock hole" has to be there on the adaptor to keep the stock from rotating right?
