OK...Marlin guys...question. (PIC added)

Sorry if this post is about a year too late. LOL I just registered the other day and have spent the last few days searching interesting posts. There is another possability for your gun and that is that it could be a Talo model. I had one and contacted Marlin for some info and they told me that there was a Limited Edition Talo model manufactured in 1986 and there were only 1500 made. I'm not positive if it was 16 1/4 or 16 1/2 inches but the next time I see it I will measure it. Try giving Marlin a call with the serial numbers and see what they can tell you. Seeing as how it's been a year you're likely tired of it by now I should be a nice guy and take it off your hands. LOL They are beautiful little guns, I wish they would make them again. Jim

It definately measured 16 1/4 inches and the barrel was marked THE MARLIN LIMITED. I found one for sale down in the states yesterday I sure wish I could buy it and ship it up here. I think that they would be the perfect rifle to take along on a cougar hunt. Think if I write enough letters to marlin they'll start making them again. LOL I guess if I'm going to dream I guess I might as well dream of one in stainless. Jim

You have to remember that factory barrel lengths are NOMINAL.

If they screw up the crown or end up with a blank thats 1/4" too short, they don't throw it away....
