So, im interested in picking up a varible power scope...need your opinions on what direction to head, currently im using a 6-24powerx50AO Ncstar junk of crap, right out of the box, elevation was not working, and the White indicator line(the peice holding the elevation turret) started turning left and right. I'd advise all, stay away from this... mind you, my plan was only to use on a .22lr! Reviews had a mix of good and bad, as for now, I will try to battle for my monies back, and look for a decent scope,

What im looking for now is something along these lines, please state your thoughts and opinions and let me know what avenue to venture down;

Must be variable power something like 4-20 or 6-24 or 8-26, (Id prefer 6-24x50AO, but open to suggestions)
Must be 45-60 AO
Must be Mildot reticle
Must be tactical turrets for quick adjustments, rated in MRAD or MOA
Cheaper in $$$ the better.

Thanks in advance and again, would love to hear ur thoughts and opinions.

That's fine, currently I'm looking for a FFP tactical turrets, 6-24x50AO

Budget? Up to 1200

Any suggestions as to which direction to head too? I heard vortex vipers right up my ally, what bout other brands?

I would look at whatever fits your budget, since it's a fairly good budget. Sightron, Bushnell, Leupold, Vortex. I'm not sure how many you will find with Adjustable Objective, at least you're not restricted by an NCSTAR budget.

well, in 1K range, if you dont need illuminated reticule, go SIII
if you do then the viper pst might be an option, but I like the SIII glass better I sold the PST and I have 2 SIII
in the 3-15 range the Weaver tactical is not a bad option. glass is very good and has locking turrets

Rather than an AO, you should consider parallax adjustment via the third knob on the left of the turret. Much more convenient than an Adjustable Objective.
