Two things still bothered me about my Tapco'd Norinco. So I did some thinking and came up some quick and easy solutions.

First, I didn't like the feel of the plastic ridges in my palm on the saw pistol grip.

I bought and attached a Hogue Glock pistol grip sleeve. It is extremely comfortable now and the their tan colour version matched the Dark Earth very well.




Second was the Tapco "Lego block" gas system handguard. The top rail is pretty much useless, and the look of it wasn't too pleasing.

I cut and attached another rubber rail cover to put on it. I then removed some "nubs" and channeled out some material under the cover to open up the sights more. It is also really easy to grip the rifle when I pull it out of the safe.

Thanks man. No, the opening actually allows for the entire front sight hood to be seen through it. In the picture there is still room to line up the rear sight with the front post a little more, it's just really hard to capture an accurate view of it on camera while balancing the rifle.

Understood. She looks good in desert tan. Now you need to go buy a nice Russian. :)
