I bought some Federal 2 3/4 " Magnum Rifled Slugs the other day.
Please educate me.

What makes them "Magnum" when they are still 2 3/4?
Also, my 590A1 is chambered for 2 3/4" and 3" I'm certain that these are fine in it, just want to be 100% sure.

Sorry for the noob question but its better to be on the safe side before I go out Sunday.

they are most likely loaded to shoot faster or its a gimmick

im pretty sure its a 2 3/4 shot shell with a lot more bang. and it will definitely fit in your mossberg

(not exact)

handicapped very light
Target = light
Field = med
Mag= max

and Shot weight changes as well
for example 12g
7/8
1oz
1-1/8
1-1/4 up to the max loading

The goofs are the ones that assume they know. You can generally tell them by the burst barrels. You asked a legitimate question.
