is it OK to shoot a .356 jacketed tip out of a .38 special or .357 mag (not hot loads). im not having luck finding any jacketed RN or HP tips in .357, they all seam to be in .356 so alsong as i dont do any hot loads would i have any probems with it? i have been eying up the Berry 147gr RN .356 tips from budget just for some cheap plinking.

It will work yes, but it won't be very accurate (unless you have an unusually small bore).

I've done it just for shirts and giggles, I resized half the case with a 9mm die and flared with a 9mm die as well.

If your going to order from budget shooter, why not just buy the proper sized bullets?

unfortantly he doesnt have any .357 HP or Round noses in stock, he only flat points and wadcutters in stock.

Which, as it happens, are best noses for plinking.
Moreover, every shooter needs to order at least once
in a lifetime from them, if only to possess one of their
original shipment/tracking notifications.

Those pointy things are called "bullets".

As stated, the 356 bullets are a bit small for 38/357. They are intended for 9mm.

Buy 357 or 358 bullets. A revolver will handle any kind of nose shape, with flat point and wad cutter being the most common. They punch nice round holes.

You deserve the Henry experience.

Some added information about wad cutters and semi-wadcutters..........

If someone is aggravating and annoying, you tell them that they are the type of person who should be shot with a dull bullet. (you want to inflict the maximum amount of pain) :sok2

The above was a "tip". Thk

If they don't take the hint, then you send them a small bouquet of flowers.
(sometimes you have to be very blunt)
