From what I remember from visting family out there Vancouver Island didn't see many Brant. They were more on the coast of the mainland at the mouth of the Fraser if memory serves?

Snows close here on the 10 th as well.
Do not recall when the honkers late season is done.
Not open in Cow Bay or Nanaimo areas.
Iirc correctly, this area 2-4 is the only open area in B.C.
Ok, weather was worse than reported earlier.... the weathr was actually ESE and a gale , with driving rain....I'm on the lee side of the building.
Today Tonight and Wednesday Gale warning in effect. Wind southeast 25 to 35 knots veering to southwest 25 to 35 late this afternoon then diminishing to southeast 15 to 25 this evening. Wind increasing to southeast 25 to 35 Wednesday evening.
Tides will be the key along with a good layout boat and decoy spread.

I can recall reading numerous articles in the Vancouver newspaper about it plus watched a few newscasts while out there about the Brant hunt in regards to guys being ticked off at their hunting opportunities being diminished in the Fraser estuary due to human encroachment so its not exactly a provincial secret!
Heard of several birds being taken by 0900 hrs.
Wind is the key today, one guy couldnt get in the water due to shallow boat and the old boy was smarter than to try and risk it.

No that's the sister ship to Bryan's. a foot shorter and a couple differences but share similar designs.

You can always head up to Qaulicum Beach for the Brant Festival.
Its always a great time to wear camo and tape picture of the lil Black Geese.
Amazing to hear them cackling out on the tidal flats.

Yep bio got a new vehicle last year. He was out there in some rougher stuff today. Really picked up closer to noon.
