There is a seller down there that has all the stuff I need (4 guns and a load of ammo), but he does not want to deal with export. I am comfortable handling the import part myself, all I need is an FFLed dealer South of the border, who would be willing to buy from the guy I point to, take my papers and apply for export permit. Ideally, that will be a dealer in Buffalo... Any suggestions?

Despite that I would like to support one of our sponsors, Questar is out of question due to their pricing ($150 per gun is way above what I can afford).

I deal will an exporter but she is in montana. Does all the paper work and mailing $75 for first gun and $25 for each additional one on the iic form you get from ottawa Leroy's big valley guns. All you'll have to do is get an iic mail it to Leroy's and have the ffl mail her the guns, She'll have to mail the ffl dealer her ffl before he can mail the guns.
Hope this helps

Forgot to mention, it costs ffl dealers $1725.00/year to get an export licence. This is why there are very few that do exports.Leroy's is one of very few ffl dealers that do exports. I had a hard time finding one. I had to have my guns mailed from ohio to montana to come to Toronto.

Thanks a lot! It looks like Leroy's does not have a web site, should give them a call...

Once we are on topic, what's the deal with buying ammo in the States? From confusing and raveled regulations, that I found on Nat. Resources, it seems that nothing prevents me from bringing up to 5000 rounds of non-prohib ammo from over the border, as long as I declare them with customs. Is that right? Does US side care about me exporting ammo to Canada?

"...Does US side care about me exporting ammo to Canada?..." Yes. They require a State Dept. export permit that requires a Canadian import permit to get. Our Customs only care about it being legal here and collecting the duty and taxes on it. PST and GST in Ontario plus duty. No 'free trade' for any firearms related stuff.
