On a local classifieds site a guy is selling whats suppose to be #2 four dram shells of the old imperial magnum variety, for $150 for three full boxes. Is it just me or is this totaly out lunch. These shells cant be possible woth that are they? There not even that on common here in newfoundland.

I've bought several boxes of Imperial paper shells at gun shows for anywhere from $5 to $12 a full box, with the boxes being in excellent condition. I buy them so I'll have a good supply of gun nut perfume!! :p

Unless there is something not made clear in the ad, $150 is a way too high. Give the fellow a call.

That's ridiculous.

I've been outright given more boxes of those than I can count.

I am just like a kid in a candy store when I find a nice box of paper Imperials at a gun show. I even found some with a roll crimp and the # on the little round card in the end. I keep some of those under my pillow.

We all know how those old CIL hulls smell after they are fired.

Your dating yourself there Bud;)[/QUOTE]

Yeah, I know. I used to go hunting chicken and partridge with my Dad. I was probably about 10 when he started taking me along. I was the retriever. :p

I remember going in his 1949 Chev torpedo. He sold it in 1958. I used to keep all the empties. Not only did the Imperial hulls smell nice, but there was something special about the sound when he would fish in the box for a handful of loaded shells, and when he would snap the old Tobin shut.

I still have the Tobin, and a lot of good memories. :)

Just a little over priced.:sok2. Kjohn i remember that smell as well and i`m not as old as you. :D To bad a guy couldn`t bottle thaqt fragrance, i would ise it as aftershave.:D
