Hey Folks,

I've got an old single shot shotgun break action that I'm restoring for a friend, however I haven't the foggiest as to the make or model. I'd like to price out a stock for it but Boyds needs the make and model. Any shotgun gurus out there know what this is? I can provide more pics if needed.

ps Sorry about the pic, I know it's huge.

Thanks,
Hi-Standard

Not sure what it is but am pretty sure it's missing the small metal bit that goes on the rear of the forend that adjoins to the front of the receiver. Look at a side pic of a Cooey to see the pc that's missing.

No stampings, not even serial numbers? No proof marks or indications of the choke? What is the chamber size? If not marked with any of that, I'm not sure why the model of stock used is even important, it would seem to be an ancient generic gun like one of my granddads kept out in the barn, forend held on with black hockey tape.

Oh wait, fitting the forend… maybe just a measurement to the lump will do?

Looks like one of them ultra deadly AR 15 fully semi automatic assault shotguns with a 100 round magazine bullet clip, friend. Pinned to one round of course.:p:p

But seriously folks. It is reminiscent of the real old Stevens type.

I own an old (very old) Stevens and it looks very similar. Check the top of the barrel for anything that may be there, very faded of course. Mine says patent date 1913. It has a short, 3 digit, number under the fore stock as well.
Typically with these guns the receivers are all the same and the breech end of the barrel was sized up to fit regardless of the gauge. Mine is a .410 but the breech end is the same outside diameter as a 12 Ga.
