old .22 Ammo

just came into possession of some old .22 Ammo
I haven't seen most of the packages before so thought they was rather neat .
there is some military .22 that would have fed my Lee Enfield trainers .

I have a soft spot for anything with the C.I.L. logo on it...

That ammo would run well in my old (Anschutz made) CIL rifle. :)

The military team in the Ottawa pistol league would trade a brick of their D.N.D. issue for a box of Super Clean.
Their ammo gave them lots of opportunity practicing to clear jams and FTF.
With the Super Clean they could compete. In a time line, Super Clean came between Canuck and the Dominion (100 per box).
Super Clean and Whiz Bang were produced at the same time in the 50's, 60's and 70's, IIRC.
 
You know you're old when you see stuff you used as a kid in museums....remember when the fall Sears catalogue came out with PAGES of guns and ammunition?(full wood Lee Enfields for $8,the 'sporters' were a bit more)
GOS for moose in BC,LEH was unheard of,as was 'gun registration'other than pistols and revolvers but if you shot somebody you got hanged

collecting old ammo is OK. shooting it be cautious. The lead will corroded and swell the brass and cause fire out of battery a guy brought some old ammo into the shop that would not allow the bolt to close You can beat it shut and have it fire but with rime fire it will ignite with the extractor claw. in a semi be care full. We showed the customer how 22LR would not drop into the chamber but the ammo that was old would not. my .02
 
Just don't throw away the empty boxes after you shoot it, a lot of people collect them do a search on ebay they actually sell for $10.00 to $20.00 each
some for more.
