Hello

I was given some .303 some were in 10 round packages with the following info on it.

S.A BALL
.303 Inch
CORDITE
9 8 12
Mark VI then beside this is a C with something in the middle and a small O A under the C.

The round are package in Paper with orange writing and tied with a blue and white string.

Any ideas of its worth?

Thanks

That's pretty old ammo. For those who are lucky enough to own a LONG LEE, they would make a very nice accessory.

I saw a few packages of those for sale in Salmon Arm last fall. They were marked $30 each. They were also wrapped in Saran wrap, then sealed in shrink wrap sleeves, with a small bag of dessicant.

The ammo stayed on the fellow's table, until the last couple of hours of the show and then they were sold for $25/package.

There is a member on this site, 303enfieldT, he is pretty well versed on the value of such ammunition. Do a search and send him a PM, he's a decent fellow and would gladly tell you what he knows.

The Mark VI round was introduced in 1904. In 1910, the British took the opportunity to replace their Mk VI cartridge with a more modern design. The Mark VII.
