Got a crate of old ammo from a co-worker. I know some of these boxes are collectible but I don't know anything about them and don't collect ammo boxes. Most are full boxes, couple are half and a couple are empty. Condition isn't the greatest unfortunately.

Stamped APR 16 1940

Great photos of days gone by in the ammo department.
Some of those boxes are here in the stack'im deep pile.
Those .410 I remember picking up all a vendor had at the
Penticton show how many years ago?
I remember it well as the missus dropped me off at the show.
We argued whom should have the car.
I told her to take it not suspecting I'd walk a mile with umpteen
bawxes of this ammo stretch'in them plasteek grocery bags.

Thanks for the photos.

Thanks for posting, always interesting to see the old ammo boxes.

I used to buy the Mastercraft Supreme 12g ammo at the Huntsville Canadian Tire in the mid 70s, for $3.33/box.

The pics made me smile, too. I bought S&B 12 gauge shells at Canajan Tire for years. $1.99 per box, and I had to save up for two weeks just to afford the next box!

Only the first picture of the Dominion .22s has me stumped. What vintage is it, does anybody know?

1940. Just got it.

I liked the look of the old 22 ammo at the top . I used to buy the 12 gauge Canadian Tire ammo years ago. always went bang . I had to look several times at the box of 9mm . Spanish or something of that nature . I saw SB but it's not Czech . nice find.

The top ones, the yellow boxes of CIL .22 LR, are certainly something I'd never seen before. Not in bad shape either, considering their age.

Great old boxes. Avoid opening them in the middle of the lid. Use a plastic letter opener and slide it under the flap. There's a reason vendors have their old boxes wrapped in clear plastic. People use their thumbnail to wreck the flap. One old vendor has his all wrapped, but thinks it's okay to go around and pry everyone else's boxes open.
