Have a friend on another site wondering why these indents are on some old bullets
Thanks in advance for the help. My guess is for weight reduction and reduce friction but not sure
X2 I still have a couple hundred hanging around here . I have had great success with the CIL ammo and components the brass was great to bad they are long gone.
I still use them in my .303 loads, C.I.L. staked the jackets to the cores like that.
Works pretty danged well from the bullets I have recovered.
Really like them in the 215 KKSP .311's.
Cat
Funny thing, a lot of the so called "authentic" bitten bullets are actually found on battle/camp sites that later held pigs. The animals would snuffle around and chew on anything they found leaving plenty of tooth marks.
On this topic, I acquired a box of loose rounds of ammunition. Everything from .22 mag to 300 Norma Mag in rifle and pistol from 25ACP to 455 Colt. If you want to see a list, send me an e-mail address and I will attach an open office calc file that also opens in Microsoft Excel. Mostly small quantities, but I have 40 of Win 32SLR and 15 Mi Carbine.
